Description
When it comes to skin, even today many people underestimate the importance of food for dermal health, radiance and freshness, attributing all types of skincare merely to the application of creams and formulas for topical use. Experts in the field of aesthetic medicine, however, know that a balanced diet can be of substantial help to the contrast of the physiological processes of ageing of the dermis, given that various nutrients reach the skin through blood circulation, arriving at their destination “from within”. Often, however, in addition to the normal processes of cellular ageing, an improper or unbalanced diet or even an unhealthy lifestyle do not favour the complete intake or absorption of all the nutrients needed for healthy skin, hence the need for support thanks to specific nutraceutical supplements termed “anti-ageing”, for the supply of key nutrients for the maintenance and defence of healthy and youthful skin.
“CHRONOLOGICAL” AGING AND “PHOTOAGEING”
Skin ageing is a natural physiological process conditioned by various factors, both non-reversibly genetic and environmental. This is manifested by reduced skin hydration, the appearance of micro-wrinkles, loss of elasticity, hyperkeratosis and the formation of hyperpigmented spots (called “age spots”). “Chronological” ageing is caused by genetic factors. It begins after 25-30 years of age, becoming clearly visible from the age of 40 onwards. At this point in time, the processes of cell regeneration slow down and the skin becomes thinner and more fragile. Wrinkles, however, are not caused only by ageing, but also by a reduction in skin elasticity. Indeed, this is why even some young people have wrinkles, being formed where the most frequent and deep muscular movements occur, requiring the skin to undertake a special elastic exertion each time. At the level of the epidermis, the proliferative capacity of the basal cells is reduced. The consequent and progressive thinning of the epidermis then causes a decrease in its protective efficacy. At the cutaneous level, the number of Langerhans cells is halved, being of particular importance due to being part of the immune system. In addition, the skin’s vitamin D synthesis decreases by up to 75%, resulting in diminished muscle strength and progressive bone demineralisation.
We must remember that the natural process of skin ageing can be accelerated and exacerbated by a series of external factors, called “extrinsic ageing” or “photoageing”, which contribute to altering the structure of tissues. These include exposure to ultraviolet radiation (UVA and UVB), active or passive smoking, psychophysical stress, insufficient sleep and poorly-balanced eating habits. All these factors, associated with the physiological process of the passing of time, gradually emphasise facial expressions, shown on the cheekbones, forehead, around the eyes and the lips, becoming more pronounced and accompanied by a loss in tone, colour and elasticity of the skin. The aggravating factor is that these also favour the formation of free radicals, responsible for damaging DNA, RNA, membrane proteins and lipids, leading to a greater thickening and loss of elasticity of the skin itself.
NOW THERE IS INNEVITIL®
From Yamamoto® Research comes INNEVITIL®, the company’s first “anti-age” integrator and a new-generation nutraceutical in a practical vial that, thanks to its high concentration of many active elements, protects and nourishes the entire dermis structure from within, conferring greater resistance, elasticity and hydration, maintaining the skin’s brightness by combatting against the physiological processes of time. Thanks to the oral intake and blood circulation, the “biostimulating” materials are supplied to the deepest layers of the epidermis, thus facilitating the synthesis of the components needed to regenerate, whilst availing of the powerful weapon of antioxidants in combatting against free radicals.
Collagen is a naturally-occurring protein in the human body. It is particularly found in the skin, cartilage, tendons, bones, blood vessels and membranes. The collagen present at a cutaneous level is produced by fibroblasts, the dermis cells (the middle layer of the skin), being tasked with giving the skin resistance to traction, along with tone and firmness. Following normal ageing processes, the production of new collagen progressively decreases, whilst that which has already formed undergoes alteration and degradation, thus causing a loss of tone and resistance in the skin, with the consequent formation of wrinkles. Moreover, as we age, the levels of collagen synthesised by the fibroblasts and those absorbed through food are no longer sufficient to meet the needs of our skin, which subsequently thins and becomes less resistant and toned, hence the benefit of having a practical and effective integration of this (and other) precious nutritional elements.
Specifically, INNEVITIL® contains bio-polypeptides from short-chain hydrolysed collagen, Verisol®, which has a molecular weight of less than 2500 DA, comprised of 4 different peptides, and is able to produce quick and evident results in a short time, showing an increase in elasticity and skin hydration and a reduction in the depth of wrinkles in the eye area.
Verisol® is a prestigious patent optimized to enhance the beneficial properties on the skin, based on a mixture of different hydrolyzed sources of bovine, porcine and marine collagen. In its blend of bioactive elements, INNEVITIL® presents hyaluronic acid that contributes to the formation of the structure that supports the skin, maintaining an effective hydration and turgidity of the dermis, thanks to its ability to bind and retain large quantities of water molecules. Just like collagen, the production of hyaluronic acid also gradually decreases with age, favouring the appearance of wrinkles, hence its integration effectively acts to support greater hydration and tonicity of the epidermis, preserving flexibility of the joints and regenerating damaged tissue. Vitamin C also plays a role in the synthesis of collagen, therefore its presence in INNEVITIL® is of use as a synergistic support to its natural formation, as well as to perform its known antioxidant effects.
Thanks to the presence of collagen and hyaluronic acid, it not only benefits the skin, but also cartilage, joint, nail and hair health. Yet the great innovation in this supplement comes from the presence of Setria®, a Japanese patent with proven clinical efficacy, consisting in high-absorption glutathione when taken orally. Thanks to the technology of this patent, it is now possible to take the most powerful antioxidant of our organism, called the “master antioxidant”, also by mouth in our practical vial, thus having at our fingertips the most powerful antioxidant and detoxifying factor capable of destroying free radicals and regenerating other antioxidants, in favour of a more efficient defence for the organism. Just like collagen and hyaluronic acid, the levels of glutathione naturally present in the body decrease as we age, increasing the possibility of free radical action. Therefore, having maximised the levels of glutathione stored in the form of Setria®, with proven absorption efficiency, allows us to have the most powerful antioxidant and active detoxification element for our body, resulting in more toned and purified skin.
Moreover, it has recently emerged that glutathione plays a significant role in the skin’s lightness, improving shine and compactness, thanks to its power to decrease the production of melanin in the body, inhibiting tyrosinase (an enzyme that stimulates its production) and altering its metabolic pathway, taking it from a dark pigmented melanin (eumelanin) to a clearer one (pheomelanin).
To complete the array of these powerful and effective bioactives, INNEVITIL® also contains a mixture of other elements with high antioxidant action, being important in protecting skin to be more youthful-looking and brighter, such as Coenzyme Q10, Resveratrol, Vitamin C and Vitamin E, thanks to which there will be greater protection against oxidative stress, photoageing, and the harmful effects of excessive UV exposure that easily leads to cellular damage.
